Ushaki village lies on the river Velikaya in the ancient playgrounds of the former Russian nobility, a region now dotted with small villages set in woodlands, lakes and meadows.

First steps

We bought an acre of land on the outskirts of Ushaki where we will self-build a traditional log cabin and later a cob art studio in summer 2008. The studio will be designed to capture as much light as possible making the space ideal for artists.

If you are interested in joining us on the build we can offer accomodation in St.Petersburg for a stop-over before we move to the site in Ushaki. Please visit GoingRussian for details about St.Petersburg.
